John, your position as reflected in the second statement above is somewhat
understandable, especially when removed from the context it appears in.
However, I don't see whether and how that would relate to the terminology
question on "Sighting".

As defined, Sighting, i.e., <target-ID,location,timeStamp> exists
independently of all "owners" and all ownership questions... it pre-dates
all these. So...care to explain what you really meant ?
